ARTS is a journal of the arts in religious and theological studies. In every issue, we offer articles under the categories of theology and the arts "in the classroom," "in the sanctuary," "in the study," and "in the studio." In addition to these regular items, ARTS reviews recently published books in the field, and provides a network within the theology and the arts community by publicizing events in its "News and Notes" section.

We are always happy to receive article submissions. The editors meet every January and July to evaluate the most recent batch of submissions. All authors are contacted in February and August to inform them of the status of their papers. In addition to articles selected for publication and returned articles, the editors will often request permission to "hold" an article for future consideration.

(Please note: like many academic journals, we have fallen behind in our publication schedule. We will publish two issues in 2007: 18/2, and 19/1. 18/2 was released in May; 19/1 will be released in November. We hope to publish three issues in 2008, with 19/2 out in April, 20/1 in August, and 20/2 in December. In 2009, then, we will be back to our posted schedule, above.)

If you are considering submitting an article for publication consideration, please prepare your manuscript using the guidelines below. Then complete our submission form and send it with two (2) copies of your article to:
