ARTS: The Arts in Religious and Theological Studies is the journal of The Society for the Arts in Religious and Theological Studies published by the theology and arts program of United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. Edited by Wilson Yates and Kimberly Vrudny, the journal treats broadly the intersections between theology and the arts.

EXPERIENCED. For twenty years, ARTS has explored the relationships between theology and the visual, musical, theatrical, literary, and liturgical arts.

PURPOSEFUL. ARTS has been recognized as the single publication devoted specifically to the role of the arts in theological education and religious studies while also serving clergy and artists.

FAITHFUL. This journal seeks to expand our understanding of how the arts deepen and sustain lives of faith, and how lives of faith depend on the arts for profound expression.

SIGNIFICANT. Each issue features articles written by well-known theologians and respected artists. By offering a forum—a "think tank"—for these professionals to enter into the religion and arts dialogue, ARTS fuels the impetus for theology and the arts degree programs and centers for the study of religion and the arts in this country and overseas.

Our publication is a valuable resource that has been acclaimed by artists and scholars for twenty years. We invite you to begin or renew your subscription today by completing the subscription form provided online. Forty-eight pages of ARTS will come to your home or office biannually.

ARTS publishes articles in the categories of:

"IN THE SANCTUARY," which reflect on the use of the arts in worship settings—from designing the worship space to creating an art-filled liturgy;

"IN THE STUDIO," which explore the transformational experience of doing art whether or not the art is explicitly religious in subject matter;

"IN THE CLASSROOM," which discuss various approaches for teaching theology and the arts courses in colleges, seminaries and churches; and

"IN THE STUDY," which take more of an art historical or theoretical approach to the subject, treating topics as varied as medieval iconography and contemporary theological approaches to aesthetics.

Additionally, ARTS "IN REVIEW" reviews recent books about the intersection of theology and the arts, and "ON THE SHELF" surveys current titles.

A two-year subscription (4 issues) is $48.
